My name is Tracy Chiu, an aspiring illustrator based in Vancouver, Canada. After obtaining my BA in Psychology, I decided to pursue my true passion in art and design and applied for postgrad in the U.K.
During my postgraduate study, I had been exploring the boundary between psychology and graphic design through an multi- disciplinary, object- based approach. Through trial and error, and continuous experimentation with diverse medium, I found my love for traditional medium such as fineliner and brushes. It may be due to my personality, my background in Psychology, or my strange interests in horror movies, comics, and grotesque monsters, my illustrations tend to revolve around the psychology of mind, the society, and my contemplation of humanity. Sometimes I do create more cheerful pieces!
I am trying to create more pieces while working full time. It can be tough to have a breakthrough in your art and design career. It is important to stay passionate about what you love and keep going.
