I Illustrate Lyrics Using Monsters.

This has been an ongoing series for the last year or so. It all started when I introduced this idea to my Jr. High Students. The project was to illustrate a song lyric using monsters, I thought that this would be a fun project for them and fill us some time at the end of the year. Well I started creating examples for them, and then it kind of snowballed from there. I got hooked on creating them, I made one everyday for the rest of that year, I filled 3 sketchbooks full. At the Beginning of this year I started using watercolor to illustrate them and it really brought them into a new light. I have continued this series and do about 3-5 a week.

They are super fun to create. I think the fact that I am a father to 2 awesome children and teach Jr. High students it really puts a different perspective to how I illustrate and think about lyrics. The only downside so far is that once they are created my daughter asks what the illustration is. It was great till I created BaHa Mens 'Who Let the Dogs out' Now that song has made it onto our playlists.
