I Have Synesthesia, So I Paint Music

I have synesthesia. It manifests in many forms. For example, letters and numbers have distinct tones and assigned personalities, and groups of digits are mentally ordered and arranged into column charts. But my favorite manifestation is that I see music as colors, textures, and shapes.

My artwork explores this phenomenon. I paint music. I recreate the light flutters of delicate piano keys, the vibrant hues of funk, and the shades of distinctive timbres. My work invites the viewer on a journey through the movement, textures, and colors of sounds.
