I Fold Origami Gradients As Color Therapy

Since I was a little girl, I was enamored with color. I remember growing up in the 80's and 90's in the US - I was glued to the television when the cartoon Jem and the Holograms was on. I absorbed all of the dazzling color combinations of their outrageous 80's fashions. At the beginning of each school year, I was so excited to get my Lisa Frank swag - explosions of neon color that I could carry around with me like accessories. I moved back to my mother's hometown in Japan in the mid-90's and lived there for there for the next ten years. My art today has become a blend of both my Japanese and American upbringings - origami gradients in vibrant, sweeping colors.
