I wanted to turn vintage linens into a produce bag to keep my green beans from throwing a veggie rave inside my reusable grocery bag while I work toward a plastic-free life. My boyfriend hated the age stain of the doilie, so I dyed it with a DIY dye from fresh turmeric! It took me 4 hours, excluding drying time.

Before: Age-stained Linen
Put turmeric in food processor, peel and all.
After letting linen prep over heat in vinegar solution, wring out and add to dye pot.
Rinse linen, remove lingering turmeric pieces, and let dry flat overnight.
Fold linen in half, sew up side seams. Add drawstring or button, if desired.
