I Drove Through Israel On An Electric Toy Car

As a young kid growing up in a small town in Israel, I always dreamed of having an electric toy car, but at the time I didn't have the ability to make that dream a reality.

Years went by and I joined the army, I became an Officer in the Armored Corps and I ended up driving tanks on a pretty regular basis.

At the age of 29 I was finally released from the army with no real idea what I will be doing with my life, so I enjoyed a few months of doing nothing much and trying to figure some stuff out.

A few weeks before turning 30, a day which petrified me, I went to a field where I hid a time capsule before I joined the army.

Among the love letters and dolls was a list I wrote in which I tried to predict the things I accomplished before 30.

I thought I'd be married with children, Wealthy, well traveled, an Entrepreneur and many other things.

Needless to say, I didn't accomplish any of them.

The one thing that I wrote, that I forgot about was my childhood dream, which was to drive all through Israel on an Electric Toy Car.

Since Israel is a rather tiny country I decided on crossing that one off the list and going on an Adventure.

I looked for the right vehicle to go on such a journey, apparently the cars I dreamed about as a 7 year old child wouldn't be able to hold the weight of a well fed 29 year old so I went for something more suitable for 11 years old.

An electrical ATV which was about a quarter of the size of an adult one, it had good speed (Max 15 KM/H on a flat road and 30 KM/H going downhill) and could hold my weight.

The seller though I was crazy, since he never sold one to anyone me age and definitely not to someone that wanted to really travel with it.

I set out from the Most Northern part of the country, a small town called Metula and I headed South.

Israel is a rather small country and the route I chose was 728 KM from North to South.

I was joined by 2 of my closest friends who decided to help me out on the way and they also were filming my journey for a documentary they were hoping on making.

I was surprised by the reactions I got. I started the trip thinking people would think I'm crazy yet I was surprised how everyone I met understood why I'm doing it and they would share their own dreams with me.

The whole trip took me 20 days in total with a few stops to rest.

The trip was incredible and life changing and I think it's not due to the fact that I traveled in a toy car, I think it is because I allowed myself to open up and take in whatever words of wisdom people were sharing with me.

So if I can share any advice to you all it would be to fulfill a dream, go on an adventure and if you can make it as slow paced as possible.

Just a short note - my friends finished editing their film and in my very biased eyes, it's a beautiful road movie that really captured the essence of my trip and I'd love it if people got the chance to see it. They decided to call it "30 KM/H" which I felt was very suitable and I hope you all get to see it one day.
