A "GUID" is a computer science word for "Globally Unique IDentifier". They generally have a form like {EDE69B06-67B9-42FA-86F0-6DC8EA28F9B4} and are found in various computer programs. I have always liked the concept of them and always liked saying the name "Goo-eid".
On my work intranet I have a chat group called GUIDs that I post random GUIDs and sometimes facts about them from time to time. Recently I started drawing some cartoons and posting them there (blame it covid isolation!).
For some context the key thing about a GUID is that it is unique. There are also various "versions" of GUIDs (5 in fact) and they have slightly different properties. For example a version 4 GUID is completely random.
