I Created A Song & Stop-Motion Music Video About Pandemic Isolation Out Of 2000+ Photos Featuring My Copper & Metal Sculptures

I am an artist and musician from Ontario, Canada. In a few recent moments of "boredspiration" during Covid-19 lockdown, I pulled out a couple of dusty vintage keyboards and wrote a song. It is a fast, catchy song called "Lonely Man" that is about a person dealing with the solitude of social isolation. The song was really fun to make and I decided that the best way to get people to hear it would be to make a music video. I decided to use stop-motion animation and include some of my recent copper and steel sculptures as stand-in "friends". These sculptures have been the focus of my time in isolation and are made from copper sheets that have been cut, folded, soldered and riveted together to form polyhedrons and shapes that I find interesting. The video follows me around my 50-acre property and through several local small towns in the area. My 14 year-old daughter helped me shot the scenes in small towns, which really helped me look not so crazy as I freeze-framed myself around with her behind the camera. My 15 year-old son helped with creative decisions and editing suggestions. I had a blast making it and I hope you enjoy it too!
