Our future is going to be masked. People don't want to be made to stay at home, jobs must be tended, but meanwhile ... no one wants to spread disease or have it shared with them; even asymptomatic people need to be safe for the sake of others.
In homes across America, seamstresses and crafty people are making masks. What started as a way to help nurses and doctors and other professional care-givers, has built to covering the need for every person, especially the vulnerable.
But masks can be awkward. They can feel restrictive. They will save lives, but getting people to wear them in the first place is an onerous task.
I remembered the old "Got Milk?" ads of 20 plus years ago and thought "got mask?" - so close. I've been working at Photoshop parodies for over ten years and so this was right up my alley.
But what started as pure parody has expanded to all popular memes - movies, celebrities, TV shows, and will continue. I'm not done.
But I've got a good start with 20 or so of these spoofs.
I find medicine/challenge is often helped with a smidge of humor. I hope these parodies prompt people to think of mask-wearing with more tolerance and more automatic use. Leave the house? Don a mask. gotmask? Why, yes, I do!
