The series up to now has taken around a month to shoot. Which in total has got me around 8 final images… with plenty of out takes. It started with me not really knowing what to do with all the free time after my work dried up. I’m lucky enough to have a nice big garden in London, so a lot of my time was spent outside in the sun, reading and drinking coffee. Ive always loved nature, I’m originally from the peak district, so a lot of the time miss the access to open land here in London. I started noticing the amount of birds that came to our garden even though we have 2 cats; Fatty and Fidel. So thought it would be an idea to try and get some shots of them… but not in your standard back garden wildlife photographer style. So I built a small bird table and made a backdrop from a panel of wood with some canvas wrapped around it, and set that back a little to get some depth… and then just waited. My housemates and neighbours must of thought I was mad, sitting outside everyday. Days went by and I didn’t get anything. Only focus tests of a tin of beans. Then one day after about 5 hours of waiting, a little robin appeared, and made it all worth while. I still don’t know how I had so much patience, but it kept me busy and was almost like meditation sitting out everyday. Here are the results…
Im currently in the process of printing a limited run of prints, So please get in touch for details.
