Being in a long distance relationship while in high school is not for everyone but if you've been able to get through that, everything else seems like a piece of cake.
A few lessons we learned while being in a long distance relationship during high school.
1. Talk to each other every. single. day. No exceptions.
If you talk to each other every day, it gives you a piece of mind knowing that your significant other is still thinking about you.
You also can't connect everyday on a physical level so the more connecting you have through communication, the better you'll feel.
2. Next to talking everyday, you'll also want to facetime/skype every day. When we were in high school we literally would skype with each other every night and leave skype on all night long while we were sleeping. When the morning came, we would say good morning and get ready for our day.
3. See each other any chance you get and for as long as you can. Any holiday, three day weekend, or summer break, go see each other. It will go such a long way and you'll want to spend every minute with your partner.
4. Let people know. Let your friends and others know about your relationship. Don't hide it!!! This way, your friends will watch out for you and others are less likely to flirt with you because they know you're taken.
5. Communicate. Be honest with each other and tell each other how you're feeling.
6. Trust. Trust each other that no matter what they have going on or who they're with, they'll make good choices and respect you and your relationship.
