This little princess was brought into my Houston newborn photography studio at just 9 days new. She was born on March 14, 2017 weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Parents, William and Jess, gave their tiny doll the beautiful name of Harper Rose. Some babies fit their names perfectly, and that’s the case with this cutie.
Jess and William have been together for 6 years and married for 3 of those years. Harper was a complete surprise to the couple when they found out, but one of those welcome surprises! They found out about Harper after Jess’s birthday last year. It was like a belated birthday gift.
With the middle name of Rose, they picked light pink for the nursery with hints of gray. Knowing the colors of the nursery, I had to use my light pink fabric as the background for Harper Rose’s session. It really went her skin tone, and brought out the pink in her skin. I believe any of these would be fantastic if enlarged and placed on her nursery wall. As she grows up, she can see how she first came into the world.
This newborn was like a tiny doll with her delicate features. She didn’t wake up at all during the entire session, which allowed me to pose her quite easily. I loved the pink bonnet used in one of the poses, which helped to accentuate her sweet, little face. The bonnet is part of my collection from Riley’s Mom Makes Hats. They’re one of my favorite vendors. The headbands are from Edna Magdalene, which is a favorite as well. I couldn’t get along in the studio without these wardrobe essentials. It was lovely to meet Jess and Harper for the session. I love Houston newborn photography so much, but I adore seeing these newborns as they grow and thrive. It would be delightful to see Harper Rose as she gets bigger. That’s a little hint that I’d love to see Harper for more milestone sessions!
