HIV isnt scary anymore. Yet the stigma around it stops people from coming forward to get tested and treated. If a person with HIV gets treated, the medication is now so good and effective that they cannot pass the virus onto their partners. They can even now make babies that will NOT be born with HIV. This is called U=U. Google it. People need to know this. In the UK, around 100,000 people are living with HIV, but 10,000 of them dont know. By not getting tested and treated they are hurting themselves unnecessarily and potentially passing the virus on to others. I feel very passionately about this having experienced this stigma myself and have been working on a campaign of videos, podcasts, GIFs etc to spread the word. Stop the stigma. Get Tested. Get treated. Get well.
