Taught in a tough district and I was a no-nonsense teacher. Hadn’t had very many old students come up to me to thank me. One day this lady came up to me and asked me if I remembered her. I really didn’t because rarely does an adult look the same as the second grader they used to be. I gave her my stock answer for these situations, “No, tell me who you used to be”
Her response: “I’m —-. I remember how much you liked my cursive writing! You said it looked like a teacher’s writing. I loved cursive but wasn’t very good at it. I worked on it a lot and you loved it! I was so happy!”
