Why? Because I am so tired of being told to be "grateful" that she adopted me and "saved me" from my "alcoholic junkie biological mother". I am so tired of her telling me that I will end up "just like" my "alcoholic junkie biological mother". I am so tired of her physical and verbal abuse of me that still continues now even though I'm 41.
I have never forgotten that she held a gun to my throat when I was 6 and threatened to unalive me. I have never forgotten that she used to cut my dad with a kitchen knife over and over because he didn't want to hit her back during their fights. I have never forgotten that she made me euthanize my dog Ember because my mom thought Ember's cancer was "contagious". I have never forgotten that she obliterated two decades of my life after my dad's accident by using obligation and duty to force me to stay at home and help take care of him and work for the family business.
I have never forgotten that she had the AUDACITY to complain that HER life "was wasted" taking care of Dad for 20 years. SHE was 56 when my dad's accident happened. She'd already gotten to HAVE a young adulthood/adulthood. I was 18 when it happened. I didn't get to have my 20s/30s, they belonged to her.
Yeah, "behind the scenes" Lakota isn't very pretty. Sorry. Now you know why I'm usually so cheerful - the second I let it slip, it's howling chaos all the way down.
Every day I live is a middle finger to her, though. There's always that!
