Hey Pandas, What's Your Favorite Way To Celebrate Your Birthday?

My last birthday was a few weeks ago.

The plan was, as I already had the week off, I was going to spend the day with the wife. We were going to take the dogs for a nice walk on the downs, stop off at a country house for lunch and a tour of the grounds & gardens, head home, chill out for a bit, and finish off buy going to a restaurant for a meal with the larger family (about 30-40 of us).

What actually happened:

I was called into work due to an emergency. The ceiling collapsed. I had to spend the day waiting and dealing with surveyors, builders, and the like.
Too many members of staff at the restaurant fell ill, so they didn't open.
I hadn't done the weekly shop so ended up having a sandwich for dinner.

To top it off, My wife had ordered a custom cake and the delivery driver decided to leave it on the driveway. Some foxes got at it.

It's all been rearranged for tomorrow, so if a volcano suddenly erupts in quiet Surrey England, you know it's because I've made plans to do something.

The older I get the more quiet I like it. If we're going out, I like to keep it low profile (I won't mention it's my birthday - no cake and songs please). I just want to enjoy a good meal with my wife.

If at home it's probably a piece of steak and a good bottle of wine. And an extra treat for our Bulldog (if not she gets jealous). No gifts. We prefer to spend the saved money on some vacation.

Depending on where I am, either a massive sheet cake made from mix and store bought frosting, a cake from a local bakery that my parents got their wedding cake from, or a old family recipe cake.

I got all three one year due to miscommunication amongst my parents and I was ECSTATIC.

I don't do much. This go around we made ham and invited friends for dinner 🙂

I'll tell you in a few weeks if I'm right or not, but I'm hoping this year is the best in a long time! I am going to see my favorite band with my bestie!

Mine is in around a month and I'm planning to go out to the forest for a hike with friends and also play video games at my house

I don't remember my birthday and usually no one else.

My best friend of 15 years and I share a birthday, in the past couple years we started doing a trip to Puerto Rico every year. This year is number 5!

I don't know.... I'd rather not have a birthday sometimes tbh. I mean,it's still fun, but yk.

Sitting in my room, alone, listening to music. Alone, please.

If it were my birthday, I’d like to go to the casino and just lose some time in some menial excitement (after the calm family dinner to celebrate of course), but then get a little adults only time away to just behave like a reckless kid myself again for a little while. Have a couple drinks, dance to music that’s way too loud, stay up til the sunrise and talk about how cool it looks. Then sleep the hangover off so I can go another year remembering why I don’t enjoy drinking much unless it’s for a special occasion.

(How id like to spend it) sleep in, do somethin different, go to sleep

(How my family spends my bday) wake up early, sing happy bday, plan a whole day of fun, eat cake, sing happy bday again, send me happy bday messages weeks later

I dont hate my bday, but id rather just lay low for it :)🍩

I want a birthday where my father doesn’t yell at anyone on that day. Tomorrow is my birthday and my father fatshamed me (I’m not even fat, I’m also a bit on the underweight side), he says that I’m like a disgusting fat short boy (I’m just a girl who prefers having ear lenght hair and am just slightly shorter than average)and he snapped a lot at me even though I did nothing that would warrant that. He wished me a very passive agressive “happy birthday”. Happy birthday to me I guess

Better be a cake there
Since I have a winter birthday I prefer to be indoors. Can't go wrong with bowling. It's more fun than playing a trivial game where people start getting impatient with the deep thinkers, and mad at each other for not knowing what everyone else knows.

Video games! And my Granny's cooking! My Granny's the best cook in the world, hands down. Steak, tacos, baked potatoes, hot tamales, you name it!

Ayo happy early b-day! I personally love a good local bakery cake, and chilling at home with a new video game.

Probably the best birthday I have ever had was the time I went to visit my best friend. We live about four hours away from each other, so getting to meet was a special treat. We also got some food from a little Italian backers and stiffened ourselves with as much cake as our parents would allow.

The last few years I’ve done something small with my five closest friends, typically something like an escape room for the bunch of idiots we are to struggle in. Even if it does take us two hours, we always enjoy it.

I have 2 kids, I've forgotten what it's like to celebrate your birthday. I actually had to do the maths one time when somebody asked me my age because it had been so long since i even paid attention to it, I felt so dumb lol
