I was 13 and wanted to play football with the guys. They said Id get knocked down and cry. Finally, one guy said ok and picked me for his team. I was going to block for the quarterback. He showed me what to do, snd told me how to do it! Really good! When this kinda mean kid came at me intending to knock me down, I did what he said to do, and blocked! Knocked that bigger kid on his butt good! It felt wonderful and I knew I had scored some respect! My “ captain” was laughing so hard he fell down! Made me laugh too, but more like nervous courage! Been brave ever since!
