A few days before my birthday (November) the vet told us our cat had an incurable illness and wouldn’t see the new year.
On my birthday I went downstairs to find my cat chasing her tail.
She did die in the end, the following March, but this birthday memory remains the best birthday present ever.

When I had my first kid 17 years ago my grandma gave me a Rose Bush. I planted it back then. She died not many months later. As my son grew, so did the Rose. It is a beautiful memory of her.
