I'd leave them alone unless I was truly a fan of their work. In that case, I'd just say that I appreciate their work, and leave them be.

A Hermitcraft member greets me while I'm at the store. Hmm..... Say Hello back and tell them I love their content! Walk away, think " I JUST FRICKIN TALKED TO A HERMITCRAFT MEMBER " and leave them alone. I have to remember that their human beings.
