I worked for a solar company run by the most irresponsible, offensive man-child on the planet. He would change rules and employment conditions on a whim, would make promises that he wouldn't keep and generally treated everyone like poo.
Every single person on his sales team was regularly verbally abused, because he thought it was how you "keep people in line." I was the HR manager. My days were a constant stream of employee complaints that I couldn't do anything about because if I reported them, the owner absolutely would retaliate. The owner was a walking lawsuit waiting to happen.
I did wind up filing an abuse complaint against them and I suspect I wasn't the first. My only regret about leaving is that I didn't order them a fork you cake on my way out.
