Love is a unique thing. It’s different for everybody. For some people, to love someone means you would cross worlds just to give them a better chance at life. For others, it’s just giving them things. What was your first experience of love?

When I met my boyfriend. I never felt love from my parents and certainly not from my previous abusive partner. It’s crazy to me that he sees me the way he does, if fact he told me that if I could see myself through his eyes I’d understand how amazing I was...I am immeasurably lucky

I had a crush in daycare... He only came for one day before swapping daycares (it was the kind of temporary daycare).

There’s a back story.
So there was this cat that would hang around our house and we would fear it. Eventually we found out the cat was a girl, because she had 4 babies under our porch. We kept 2, and named them Zippy and Shadow. Shadow was a runt and we didn’t think she would make it, but she did.
Anyway my first love was with Zippy, because she was always there to cuddle with me, and whenever I got in my bed at night it wouldn’t take her long to come cuddle. Eventually we had to get rid of the cats, and I was heart broken. I now know I’m a cat person though

I once met this guy when I was 17, he was 22. I find it difficult to fall in love because I just can't let go enough but I did care for him. He just a gentle giant (6"5), basketballer. He was pretty cute. A perfect guy. He said the cutest things. He did a lot of corny things but let's face it, what girl doesn't like corny stuff (I suspect he did that because he saw my stash of romance novels, and yes he read some of them and did some things). He was one of those people you saw and their eyes bore all their emotions. After a year of dating, I had no more romantic feelings for him, so I decided to cut things off. It was difficult, really difficult. It's one thing to see a grown ass man cry, it's another thing to see a grown ass gentle giant cry while knowing that tiny me caused those tears. It rent my heart in two. I had half a mind to tell him I was kidding, but I realised I would do more damage if I stayed in the relationship while pretending I still cared for him. To be honest, I'm low-key kind of jealous of the girl who is going to fall in love him (hopefully, he'll love her back) because he's a really good person and he deserves unconditional love. Now when people say you never forget your first love, I now understand. He's going to hold special place in my heart. I haven't talked to him in a while now but I suspect it's good for the both of us.
