Hey Pandas, What Was The Most Heartbreaking Rejection Moment Of Your Life?

My mother left me (15 f) and my brother (14 m) to be with a man she had been having an affair with. My parents were divorced and both remarried and we lived with her and our stepfather (who is the nicest man). My brother and I were watching television when our mother came down the steps with a suitcase and she announced she was leaving and moving to California (we lived in Pennsylvania). I was stunned, but my brother (he was younger) cried and begged her not to leave. Our father rushed over and busted into the gun cabinet my stepfather had and pulled a shotgun out and fired. My stepfather never kept the guns loaded (thank God). Our father was so mad that he tried to shoot her in front of us, so add THAT trauma on top of our mother leaving. After she left, I went to my paternal grandparents to live because my father's wife didn't want me living there, just my brother. My brother slept on our stepbrothers floor on a cushion until he joined the Marines. He was so angry about everything and it never left him.
