This is something that is a small, almost nonexistent problem in our world, but I still want to hear other people's unbiased takes on this. This is one of many similar posts coming in the next few months.

It should not happen, period. Teaching kids to always listen to adults and allow themselves to be put in uncomfortable situations, even if they are 100% safe, opens up a door to many dangerous situations in the future. Plus, if a kid doesn't like a hug, then LEAVE THEM BE!

As a mom who was molested regularly by my fathers brothers for a decade I say bumpkis! I never forced any action that might lead to molestation being made okay.

I'm always forced to even when I don't want too. It shouldn't happen.

Forced touching is not ok. I, personally, am not a hugger. I love it when grandson wants to hug/kiss me but would never make him do it. His personal space. I respect that. He is just shy of four. Most days, hug and a kiss. Some days, nope. He's good.

Kids should have a choice. Forcing it makes the rebellion stronger and some things can be triggered (anxiety) uncontrollably for no reason
