Absolutely no one deserves to be homeless and hungry (although they deserve some other punishment if they are a criminal, pedophile, etc.)

I'll keep it light. I think the best Star Trek captain was Captain Janeway. Star Trek Voyager definitely has its flaws, but Janeway is not one of them. She not only got her crew home after being stranded 75,000 light years away, but she defeated 'The Borg'. Twice if you count the time lines. Not to mention she purposely infiltrated a Borg ship posing as one to get valuable Intel. She rocks!

All things Star Wars are meh.

Socialized medicine would do away with the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Medicaid. This as a result would remove the waste and fraud happening in those programs. The US is the only developed country that doesn’t offer it. If you are in between jobs even for a day or two and do not have health insurance, getting injured and sick is expensive and people avoid getting needed care as a result.

Immigrants can go around a wall. I think the one statistic I read was that it’s 80 or 90% of immigrants come to the US by other means that are not the border. Also, at some point our families, our grandparents or great grandparents were either indigenous people or immigrants. We can complain about how bad things are here in the US, but life for immigrants so far far far worse.

Everyone is going to downvote me, but......I don't much care for dogs. I don't hate them, I could just live without them. And I don't get people who make dog ownership the entirety of their personality.

There should be a Christmas decoration law that states if you put up really bad Christmas decorations outside you can be ordered to take them down.
Also anyone who puts them up in October should be deported to Siberia.

That if the G7 states had continiously invested in research & development for nuclear power instead of looking for cheap ways to abolish it since the late 70s, we would have safer and more efficient power plants today and the current energy crisis would not hit as hard as it does.

I think the death penalty is murder and unnecessarily cruel.

I have several, but I think my most controversial opinion is that communism could work in a perfect society and that China and Russia gave it a VERY bad rap. I also think pickles taste great with hot sauce.

I think we should allow every immigrant who tries to get into America, except for criminals. We should then give them a modest sum to live on for a few years and unless they have somewhere to go, be placed in a town that is drying up. There are way too many ghost like towns that could be revitalized with a little new blood.

The nation-state is an obsolate concept and patriotism is a misdirected devotion. Humankind cannot survive much longer without disolving the boundaries of nations, since our most pressing problems cannot be resolved anymore by squabbling groups of people hellbent on protecting local interests and snared up in political power plays. Without acting as one species, we’re dead in the water, folks.
