Hey Pandas, What Is The Stupidest Thing You've Heard Tourists Say When Visiting Your Town? (Closed)

I live in Maryland and everyone is always asking where the best place to buy Old Bay is. Like, dude, Old Bay is the same no matter where you buy it.

I lived in Dresden (Town in eastern germany). There is a pretty famous opera house in downtown which is also always the background for a beer-advertisement, so the touristst will ask "Is this the brewery?" and most of the locals will answer "yes it is" despite the brewery is 30km away

Years ago we had a hurricane. Tourists passed a building, made of concrete the walls were like three feet thick with heavy material holding it down, and a lady walks by and says,” Im suprised the hurricane didnt just blow it away.”

I'm in Northeast Ohio. A colleague of my mom's had a friend from China over. At dinner, she was asked: "What do you like least here?" To which she replied: "Too many Black people."

I won't get into politics and racism too much, but I disagree with that notion. We should all embrace who we are, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, etc.

I grew up in Niagara Falls. Tourists would often ask, "what time do they shut the falls off [at night]?" Most locals respond with, "the same time they roll up the sidewalks."

Another silly one (though less common) was tourists asking why there wasn't any snow. Dude, it's July.

I live in Nashville TN I was getting dinner one evening when a group of people got out of their car (New York plates). I heard one of the peopke ask the driver if they'd locked the doors. The driver said pfff "this is Nashville TN, not NYC".

I live in Orange County and people will always say "Omg so do you live next to celebrities?!"

I live in a big town near the Canadian border in Washington State. It's a nice place, so there are plenty of out of town visitors. The place is a deer-fest, so there are deer everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Crossing the street, in your backyard, you name it! They're pretty used to people, and usually ignore you, but they're still wild, so you don't want to get too close to em'. (also the fawns are super cute!) Stupidest thing I ever heard that happened with a tourist is that one lady tried to pet one. DON'T. Just DON'T.
