I travelled halfway around the world to work on a cruise ship. They bunked me with a fellow South African. Her grandfather, unfortunately, passed away during that time. I mentioned it to my mom in a phone call, also naming the town he was from. She said my grandparent's close friend, from the same town, also passed away that week. Turns out our grandparents were close friends their whole life and their granddaughters ended up in the same teeny tiny bedroom on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.
