The “tie a belt around your neck and see how long you last” trend. Many people and kids have attempted this trend and died, and TikTok did nothing about it. Thankfully the trend got discontinued, but TikTok should be more aware of what horrible trends people start.

Ticktock itself.
I swear it's making everyone brain dead! Non-stop scrolling and scrolling until eventually it's 7 hours later and you haven't done anything that you wanted to do and your brain is filled with useless information about the latest dancer or whatever goes on on that platform now.
Three years (give or take) away from it and I feel so much better. 💪 I refuse to go back into that platform!!!!!!

I can’t stand the video format where a popular/weird/viral video is dueted with exaggerated reactions/useless lines of writing/literally just staring at the camera doing NOTHING. Most of those people are trying to capitalise off the popularity of the initial video. It’s the laziest, tedious, annoying, blandest, most boring, yawn inducing & fkn infuriating s**t & half of tiktok/fyp is just these vids.

I know someone said it already, but I have to reiterate the fake disorder trend. Especially the cherrypicking — they only fake disorders that can be glamorised & presented in a cute, qUiRkY, endearing way. With that, too, they pick the cutesy or edgy symptoms. Fakers can easily be placed in two categories: 1) Cute and quirky: they infantilise themselves, dress babyish/“cute” & record themselves doing “cutesy” symptoms/triggers. Common faked disorders of choice are autism/asperger’s, DID, PTSD-driven age regression, OCD. ADHD & tourette’s. 2) Edgelords: Patrick Bateman & Sherlock idolising creeps who desperately want people to think they’re intimidating, charismatic psychopaths. Disorders of choice are sociopath-ism, psychopath-ism, OCD, BP/BPD, DID (with weird alters based off characters that the faker wants perceived as dangerous & emotionless). You’ll never see fakers mention/showcase the horrid, soul-sucking, ugly side of disorders. The inability to maintain personal hygiene and depression pits of moulding plates and tear stained old pillows. ADHD destroying every shred of motivation, even for things you enjoy, so painfully it leaves you suicidal & ruins your education & employment. Peeling, bleeding raw skin from dousing yourself in bleach to quieten the screams of OCD. Ending up in A&E with burns, cuts, broken bones & scalds because you don’t choose when the tourette’s tick will strike. Walking into traffic because the depersonalisation was so strong you truly believed in your every fibre that you don’t exist. These fakers really ought to count their lucky stars they don’t know what mental illness feels like & quietly shut down their accounts before mother universe decides to deliver their karma & they suddenly find themselves with a disease they cannot shed like a character. Or their little game returns 10 years down the line to bite them in the a*s as they apply for the job of their dreams.
