My friend and I had been talking about dating for a while, and we were texting each other a lot. We had both pretty much assumed we would start dating soon, but then I started thinking more seriously. I knew I would be finishing high school this spring and heading to college in the fall, while he wasn’t planning to go to college. I also knew I wouldn’t be able to handle a long-distance relationship for four years and that it felt pointless to date over the summer if I didn’t want to continue dating him in college. So, I told him I had decided not to date. Was that wrong of me?

Nah your good mate, date when your good and ready, it wouldnt be healthy for either of u to rush into dating if not both of u are ready for that kind of commitment. Im sure your friend will understand.
