After 5 years of experience in painting all sorts of styles and sizes of murals. I finally made a video on the whole design to painting process.
For this piece, the main wall was to have Calvin and Hobbes in it. We used green as the main wall and a cream-ish colour for the rest of walls to keep the space gender neutral. Furniture that the child would use from baby to teens was also considered in planning the design. This green wall took about 2.5 days to finish painting.

Step 3: Sketch Out the Room's Design & Plan for the Future Use
I sketched the furniture that would be used by the kid from baby age to teenage.
Step 4: Paint All the Base Colors
Step 5: Layer on the Details
Step 6: Take a Ton of Pictures of the Space
Take All Angles of the Art Work
Step 7: Finally, take a Picture with a Human Inside for Scale
Oh yeah, this was the other wall, that has a measurement ruler.
