I drudgingly looked at the stack of deals on my table. Opening up my light bill I let out a gasp and shook my head. "How in the hell is my January bill this much?" I'm sure plenty of Americans have felt this but what's the explanation?
My December bill was almost $100.00 less than what this one was and that was impossible! The kids were out of school during that billing cycle so it's no way my bill should be this high! I immediately called my utility commission where I was met with an answering system. After leaving a brief message, I continued opening more bills and all I could do was let out an exasperated sigh. With this mysterious increase my budgeting for the month would ultimately leave me in the negative. It's no way me as a single partly employed parent, with three children, one of who has just been diagnosed as severely disabled with a rare disease called PLA2G6, could afford to be in the red with any bills. Since my partner's betrayal and departure, rebuilding my credit has been my focus so I can one day buy a house.
Is this the new norm? Outrageous price increases with no explanation?
