Hard On Coffee, A Company Erected Due To Covid.

My name is Ryan *girl and nine-ish weeks ago I was a full time visual artist.

I’ve worked as an artist in some capacity or another since my son was born in 2001. Until Covid I made 95% of my income selling my artwork face to face at high end art shows all around the United States. My last sale was at a show in Seattle on February 26th.

After Covid, show cancellation notices started flooding my in box and my means to earn an income as an artist went belly up, with no predicable return in sight.

So I decided to pivot. I put my visual and creative skills to the test and launched a high end, artisan coffee, branded with innuendo.

Hard On was inspired by a few things; I needed a job and I needed a distraction from the fact that I have no job. I needed to laugh and to focus on laughter (it keeps the anxiety down). I love coffee and I wanted to share something funny and positive with all the not funny going on.

I partnered with a family roasting company in Portland, also terribly impacted by Covid, and together we created a line of distinct and perfect coffees for Hard On. In all truth, I am really nervous (there is only so much money I can spare for a start up as an unemployed artist) but also excited to have found the one thing that is missing from the coffee industry, bad puns :).

My goal right now for today is to single handedly save the post office, shipping one to three Hard On’s at a time :).
