After 3 days of trekking 'the long way' to Annapurna base camp, Nepal, I stumbled upon the Gurjung orphanage...
An inquisitive bunch of kids, who unfortunately lost all thats important during the devastating earthquake of 2015...
On my 'essentials' to pack list, were colouring/sticker books and pens, and while i think the concept of stickers may have got a little lost, the smiles they brought were worth every bead of effort :)
AND it turned out that day was no ordinary day... It was in fact HAPPY HOLI!!! - A celebration of fertility, colour, love, as well as the triumph of good versus evil... Or in lay terms, a giant water fight with coloured chalk thrown in :)
As a thank you, i was smothered in red and pink chalk, and doused with enough water to drown an elephant, ensuring i would stay that colour for duration of my trek!!
