The hail to the chief project has occupied the last year of my life. I have reinvented every president (I was only able to upload 40 presidents although I have all 45) through digital collage and manipulation. I incorporated both facts and historical events while adding a modern day spin. Because everyone wants to see a president riding a Vespa, wearing a mullet , chowing down on cheese balls and streaking nude in the White House lawn. Hidden within each image is the presidential number as well as little nuggets of information about that specific president. I try to create in a non-political light, which became more difficult the closer I worked toward the presidents of my lifetime- but I hope to have succeeded! At a time when life seems upside down, wrong is right, right is wrong, I felt as an artist, the Office of the President needed some updating. All of these presidential portraits were displayed in a gallery in Houston, Texas in February of this year. With the gallery we also published a book. I will be happy to send over the reaming 5 presidents as well as the first lady compilation I thought would balance out the exhibition.
