Meet Tifa, the sweetest Golden Retriever you ever knew. For years she took care of her family by keeping them warm during naps, cleaning up any food that got dropped on the floor, and making sure all her toys got their exercise.
Cloud and Tifa would sometimes let the humans use their big comfy bed.

Together with Cloud, she kept the house a safe and playful home during these hard days of social distancing. Unfortunately, she developed a UTI some weeks ago and had to spend a lot of time traveling to the Vet. Despite several examinations and prescriptions, her condition continued to worsen until it was discovered that her bladder was damaged and leaking urine into her abdomen. She was rushed into emergency surgery but sadly wasn't able to be saved. Even at the end when you could tell she was tired and in pain, she still had an excited smile and tail-wag for anyone who needed it.

Test after test, visit after visit, the costs balloon to insane amounts before you even discover what the true issue is. We're all grateful for the doctors that help us care for our beloved pets, but not many people can cope with a bill that grows so quickly.

4 months of the family income, out the door in one unexpected, painful emergency. Vet care costs in America are starting to rival Healthcare costs, but the options for assistance are significantly fewer. Health insurance for pets is a growing industry but the vast majority of Americans cannot afford it. Tifa's family has started a Fundraiser on GoFundMe, and are immensely grateful for all the support they have already received, but every little bit helps. Even just spreading the word is a huge help to a family in need right now.
Cloud continues to be a good boy, though he is still confused where Tifa has gone.
