On the 26th of February 2020 I penned a Facebook post that detailed the staggering amount of jobs that Healthcare Assistants in the NHS take on every single day. My post also expressed my anger at our Government labelling low paid workers like myself ‘unskilled’ in recent media coverage of planned post-Brexit changes to the immigration system. Within a few hours my post started to go viral with not just friends and work colleagues sharing my post, but members of the general public (many of them fellow NHS staff) To date my post has been shared over 20,000 times!
