Georgian Royalty To International Art

Salome Kobulashvili is a sculptor and jeweler from Georgia. It happened to be that Salome is a granddaughter of King Erekle, and the last residential house of her ancestors was transferred to the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.

The rehabilitation of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts was recently completed, The Building was a residency of Salome's ancestors and belonged to her family before the revolution.

This building was built by Arsha Kunian for the Persian ambassador, who was unable to arrive in Georgia. After a few years, the building was sold at auction for 36,000 rubles, her great grandfather bought it and rehabilitated the palace, the cost was 500,000 golden rubles. He invited Persians, English, and Italian workers and gave it a new majestic look.

The abilities of the family are connected with the last viceroy of the Transcaucasia Baratinsky, who was married to Salome's grandfather's aunt Elisabeth Orbeliani. They had no children, so their property came out of the possession of the family Kobulashvili. The marriage of Baratinsky and Elizabeth is connected with a heartbreaking story. Bariatinsky was a general and a close associate of Nicholas 2nd. He was sent to the Caucasus to fight Shamil. Wounded Bariatinsky arrives in Tbilisi. He is the Vice-Kingdom of the Caucasus. Her works are created by mixed media, using mineral stones collected from different parts of Georgia keeping their authentical shape and texture, also using different materials such as smalt, clay, bronze, and silver. Her background in stomatology gave her the ability to see the little details differently and play with them in a creative way.

She has been working in this field since 2016 and is actively working on both sculptures and jewelry.
