Tyler Baltierra rose to fame on Teen Mom after sharing his and Catelynn Lowell's adoption journey as teenagers
Tyler first appeared on television in 2009, when he and his then-girlfriend, Catelynn Lowell, appeared on MTV's 16 and Pregnant.
The couple attracted widespread attention after deciding to place their first daughter, Carly, for open adoption because they felt unprepared to raise a child at such a young age.
Their story later continued on the spin-off Teen Mom, which followed their relationship, family life, and personal struggles over the years.
Tyler and Catelynn eventually married in August 2015 and welcomed three more daughters together.
Outside reality television, Baltierra has developed an interest in fitness and bodybuilding and regularly shares pictures of his physique and workout progress on social media.
However, his latest Halloween photos have drawn attention for a different reason.
The controversy erupted after Tyler shared Halloween pictures of himself dressed as Nightwing, a DC Comics superhero, on his Instagram over the weekend.
Tyler's tight-fitting Nightwing costume sparked online criticism after he posed with his wife and young daughters
He wore a tight-fitting outfit that critics said prominently outlined his private area.
Several users argued the outfit was “wildly inappropriate” for a photo meant to capture a holiday celebration alongside his wife and young daughters.
The discussion quickly turned into a broader debate about whether men and women are judged differently for wearing revealing outfits.
One commenter wrote, “That’s like saying a woman with large breasts is inappropriate. Some of us are just bigger, should we not be allowed to wear costumes?”
Another added, “This is like saying women need to hide their b**bs. So inappropriate.”
A third user came to Tyler’s defense, directing their comment at female critics: “If your t*ts are spilling out of the top or we can see ni**le, maybe save it for the adults-only parties.”
Another defended his choice, saying, “Why are you s**ualizing him? He dresses this way for HIM!”
One comment read, “Deliberately overs**ualizing a picture of a man on Halloween WITH HIS WIFE AND KIDS is crazy work. Crazy.”
“You people are so weird and oversensitive, they are literal children who probably don’t even notice it because he’s their dad?”
Some fans defended Tyler by comparing the criticism to how women are treated for their bodies
However, critics remained uncomfortable with the family photos.
“It’s right there in everyone’s face, including his young daughters. Ok but put it away around your daughters, gross,” one critic wrote.
“Dude, like insane!! Put that away around your girls!!” another added.
Some also suggested that the latest controversy was part of a recurring pattern, with one person commenting, “He did that last year too. The usual suspect…”
Others expressed, “He knows what he’s doing. It’s intentional. And it’s f**king gross. Like wear appropriate underwear.”
One user questioned, “Why would you want to have a bulge doing an innocent thing like trick or treating (or at any point) with your kids?”
This is not the first time Baltierra has found himself at the center of a Halloween costume controversy.
In 2025, he faced similar criticism after sharing a picture of himself in a tight-fitting Superman bodysuit with Catelynn and their family.
The photo drew comments from followers who objected to the visible outline of his groin area, with some even accusing him of not wearing underwear.

The backlash eventually led him to delete the picture.
Tyler and Catelynn later discussed the incident on their podcast, Cate & Ty Break It Down, where he explained that he was simply excited to take a Halloween picture with his wife and hadn't considered how the costume might look to others.
“I’m not the first dad to ever be Superman, OK? I’m not the first guy to ever wear a motherf**king Superman suit for Halloween,” he said.
“I don’t think I have to moderate or pay attention as much as other people do,” he said. “I think it’s bulls**t that people really think I’m going commando in a f**king Superman suit? Are you kidding me?”
“If you want me to f**king tuck it, tape it, wrap it, whatever you think I should do, then I hope you’re saying that to every other female, every other dude, every other person who is wearing something [tight or form-fitting]! I’m covered head to toe in a suit!”
As of this writing, the family’s photos from this year’s Halloween celebration have not been removed.
“This is a choice. He’s doing it for engagement, and that’s wild behavior, especially around kids,” one netizen wrote
