I walk with my two dogs, Angelo and Maggie, every day out here in the middle of nowhere, in Colorado's San Luis Valley. In rain, snow, and sunshine, I get to see the most beautiful colors, wildlife, and simple beauty. Autumn is brief here at 8200 feet above sea level, and winter is on its way. The temps go down to 13 degrees tomorrow night, and the dogs and I will be huddled by the fire in our off-grid house. These trees are called "narrowleaf cottonwoods."
