62 Brilliant Couples Halloween Costumes That Are Almost Too Good

As you’ve probably noticed from this list, even though many of the 2-person costumes were perfectly coordinated, some had unique designs and ideas that didn’t always match. That’s exactly what Halloween lovers need to understand: their personalities and sense of style might not always match.

That’s why folks should feel comfortable expressing their personalities, no matter how different their outfits look, because this holiday is just one night of fun.

Before these interesting and weird Halloween costumes came into existence, experts say the idea dates back over 2,000 years to the Celtic pagan festival of Samhain. This marked the end of summer and the beginning of “darker” months. During this holiday, people also believed the world of the gods became visible to humans, leading to supernatural mischief.

That’s why folks wore disguises, played pranks on each other, and blamed the spirits. Later, Christianity adopted October 31 as a holiday in the 11th century to help reframe pagan celebrations.

No matter how people choose to dress up for Halloween, there seem to be endless costume options. Coordinating with friends and loved ones can be the most fun way to make it a collaborative, exciting process, but even if you don’t want to, that’s totally fine.
