The owner of this fun online project, Dofkunas, has always wanted to create an Instagram account about something they are passionate about.
"I've always loved cats and memes so back in 2018, I combined them together and created an account where I would not post regular cute cat pictures but focused on the 'broken' ones instead," Dofkunas told Bored Panda.

From all the submissions Dofkunas has received, they've learned that how much a cat is 'broken' usually depends on timing. "Most of the photos are just cats caught in funny positions or doing funny faces, caught at precisely the right moment. The most popular ways in which 'broken' cats act out definitely appear in photos of them yawning because then they look like they are disgusted by something," Dofkunas explained, laughing.
"But photos of cats sleeping in rather questionable positions is also right up that alley. There are so many poses that only cats can find comfortable!"
The fans of Broken Cats / Cattos memes surprises Dofkunas to this day. "This page has one of the most amazing cat communities and I'm really thankful to have it."
"It seems like I don't even need moderators on the Discord because everyone is so nice."
By the way, loyal followers may have noticed that Broken Cats / Cattos memes has had the same profile picture since its creation. Fun fact, the tabby is actually Dofkunas' cat Tigras (Tiger)!"
