Whether you are only starting out with your friends, have been playing for several years, or are even just thinking about creating your own band, you know all too well how difficult it is to come up with great band names.
Finding band name ideas can turn into a whole quest. You may be playing garage rock, punk, or getting ready to become the next boy/girl band wonder, but you definitely want your band name to stand out. Good band names are always catchy and memorable. Often, they are not too long, but that’s not an absolute requirement. Some bands manage to pull off a pretty long name without confusing their audience.
If you have run out of ideas and none of the band members offer any great name options, you can also search for a band name generator online. Granted, sometimes they come up with ridiculous ideas, but who said a band name should be sensible? Similarly, if instead of playing under your real names, each member would prefer to have a cool stage name, a stage name generator can help you with that.
Most importantly, your band name should reflect the band’s personality. So if you think a funny name will suit you, definitely go for it. And if you are brave enough, go for it even if your image is the complete opposite of funny, like if your band plays black metal, for example.
If you are in search of a name for your musical band, you will appreciate the collection of funny, weird, and catchy names we have put together. Hopefully, these real-life bands will inspire you to come up with the best band names for your own music.
