MeonJi's name means "dust" and according to his owner, Kim, this adorable furball has varied moods. "One day, he's very cute, and the next he might be sensitive or feisty. Overall, he has a regular cat personality."
Despite their beauty and loving personalities, black cats often get a bad reputation. They make up a significant portion of shelter cats in the US, which means there are plenty of black cats waiting for homes.
Kim wasn’t originally interested in black cats, but MeonJi changed her mind. "Now, I think they're the best!"
MeonJi has gained viral fame, with his pictures widely shared online. Kim is grateful for the growing popularity of his account.
When asked about her favorite thing about MeonJi, Kim said, "I love his round eyes. Everything about him is beautiful, but his eyes shine more than other cats’."
Black cats have long been associated with superstition and folklore. In many cultures, they are unfortunately linked to bad luck and witchcraft. This belief persisted over centuries and across various cultures, reinforcing a negative image of black cats.
Despite these unfounded superstitions, black cats make wonderful pets and deserve just as much love and care as any other cat. By adopting a black cat, you not only gain a loyal and affectionate companion but also contribute to dispelling the myths and negative stereotypes that have unfairly burdened these animals for too long. So, if you're in the market for a new feline friend, consider adopting a black cat—they might just be the perfect addition to your family.
