I was planning to try a “seaside” peepthru photoshoot with my cats a few years ago but didn’t have the time. Lately though, lockdown boredom has kicked in and I decided to give it a go! :) I knew that it would be difficult to persuade these two cats for several photo sessions, so instead of drawing the illustrations on the box I superimposed them on the photos afterwards.
The cats modelling for me are my two Birman fluff balls Hamish and Bloomsbury. They are half-siblings as they have the same father, and they will be six years old this summer. They are usually quite patient with me when taking pictures, but don’t love the camera, so I have to get their attention with toys and by making funny noises. There was an uncomfortable moment in the last photo session when Bloomsbury got overexcited, tried to jump through the hole and got stuck from her slightly chunky belly, but she managed to wiggle herself through after a moment. :) Hamish and Bloomsbury are also the ever-so-helpful assistants in my small (mostly) cat themed Etsy shop Glorious Beasties.
