Foo Fighters - What's So Cool About Them?

Why on earth would I like to spend a weekend with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters?
When anyone is asked who they would love to meet in their life time, most would be happy or satisfied with a simple meet and greet at an event, or an interview or a signed poster.
When I am asked who I would most like to meet in my life time, my answer is always Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters. But with me, a simple meet and greet or interview would never be enough for me. This being said, it is very strange and not in my nature at all, as I tend to shy away, and wouldn’t even attempt speaking to or even approaching anyone that I would most love to meet. Im naturally introverted, and always prefer viewing from a distance and that is mostly enough for me. Not with Dave Grohl though.
When it comes to the Foo Fighters, and Dave Grohl especially, hanging out over a period of time and just tagging along when they go about their daily movements, would be my ultimate best. To be given the time of day because there would be time.
I need to get to know someone when they are in their natural setting that’s informal and allows for them to just be who they are. Even more importantly, for me to be me. To be able to relax, breathe and calm down and just talk, ask questions as they come, as well as to answer any questions and talk about myself if they do by any chance come up. No scheduled meetings or interviews, structured and awkward small talk.” In one ear and out the next” kind of thing.
To make an impact, a memory, some kind of moment in life where one would say (Dave Grohl) – ‘I remember her! That was so much fun to hang out and to get to know her. She just fitted right in!’ would absolutely be my ultimate dream!
I am by no means sick, or busy dying, or a deluded stalker fan that is going crazy over the Foo Fighters. I haven’t spent tens of thousands of Rands on concert and plane tickets following them around the world. My house is not a shrine or museum in honor of the Foo Fighters. I am just a person, married with a young daughter, with a normal life and career, from a country very far south of Los Angeles California, who’s heart would eternally radiate and smile at the slimmest, most remote and probably non-existent, shot in the dark chance at hanging out and spending a few days with Dave Grohl.
So why the Foo Fighters?
If you have ever watched a documentary of theirs, or a making the video clip, or especially their Garage Tour and how they are with fans – could any bunch of guys have any more fun together?! They laugh and rag each other and in between they record the most awesome music. They just seem to have the best fun, all the time and who wouldn’t want to be around guys like that??
So here is hoping… one day…
