It is said that sometimes Vikings "buried" their loved ones by putting their ashes as well as some of their belongings on a ship and setting them on fire. One father requested a Viking funeral, and that's exactly what he got.
A daughter honored her father's request by making the foot and a half long boat herself. "He was a man who loved his wine. Got the boat shell & string from a hobby store. Pretty much everything else was made of wine corks & wine boxes. Sealed the bottom then doused it with starter after putting in the ashes," she wrote. The boat burned in a private lake owned by her dad for hours. What a beautiful way to honor what he wanted.
