Not knowing what to do with a long Canadian winter, a visual artist from Toronto Adam Makarenko decided to make a smaller version of the apiaries that he photographed in the summer. Since then, he manually creates miniatures from everything - from boreal forests to space ships and planets.
Canadian photographer, artist, director. Born and raised in the city of Atikokane, lives in Toronto. For eight years he has been making documentaries and photographing hand-crafted miniatures. The winner of the American Photo of the Year awards in 2007 and the Magenta Bright Spark Award in 2008. He was published in The British Journal of Photography, The Walrus, Macleans, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Life, New Statesman.
