Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Buy a load of microwave popcorn.
Drill hole on top of cupboard.
Pour in popcorn.
Seal hole with duck tape.
Use the stolen hospital x-ray to pop the corn.
Slowly open door catching plates as popcorn falls out.
Relax and watch the movie over copious amounts of popcorn as you wait for the radiation poisoning to kick in.

Build a giant rocket ship, capeable of space travel. Lift your house off of the ground. Place house inside of giant rocket ship. Once in orbit, you have the comfort of zero gravity. Open the cupboard with faith, place dishes on shelf. Immediatly return to earth.

Buy a plate and break it on the floor in front of the cupboard. If the plates are smart enough they will get your message and get back in the right position. If not, open the door and let Darwin proof his theory once again.

Unscrew the hinges, carefully open the cupboard and stick something hard and skinny with duck tape on it and try to pull the dishes back up to the shelf. Maybe one or two will fall and break but not the majority. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Take the door hinge off the right side of the cabinet. Grab the plates. Stack them. And then screw the door hinge back on. Plates are saved and glass isn't broken. 👍🏼

Get a roll of duct tape.
Tape a flat ruler to one end of it.
Feed the ruler into the top of the cabinet, with the sticky side of the duct tape facing inwards
Allow the weight of the ruler to pull the duct tape out the bottom of the door.
Then attach the duct tape to the top of the cabinet, and to the bottom, pulling it tight and blacking the main dish in place
Open the cabinet and rescue the dishes.

Use the piece of textile, push that with the rod through the door gap, one and the other side, lift it up and catch plates like that. After you can open the door, while holding plates back with that textile.

Wouldn't be easier to break the top glass and reach down for the plates?
