Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Remember princess and the pea? If possible, bring that matress in front of the door (can be substituted with blankets, clothes, etc)

Probably could just open the door slowly and some plates will slide down and then once it's open enough put your Hand in to stop the others

Just open it and try to catch them all in 1 go, doing it that way improves your catching skills. :)

Slide in a piece of huge towel / blanket as you slowly slide open the door. The blanket will cushion the fall .

The door latch looks like a sliding door instead of a swing open type. slide out 2-3 inches, reach in and save whatever plates you can remove.

Open the door a crack and slide a spatula in there to hold back the first one until you can open it up and rescue them all.

Simple: plug in your loudest speakers and open the cupboard door while playing Mozart's 'eine kleine Nachtmusik' (or wagner's ride of the valkyries if you're more inclined to the darker side)

hild the glass steady with one hand, have husband or someone remove the hinges from the door. Once the wood is removed, slowly slide the glass downwards and grab the dishes one by one.
