Two hours south of Sydney on the NSW South coast are two of the most striking seascape locations in the country. Alfonso Calero shares tips for anyone hoping to capture remarkable images of Bombo Quarry and Cathedral Rocks.
The Bombo Headland's clusters of hexagonal basalt columns are an internationally recognised geological phenomena. The Headland can be accessed via the Kiama Walking Trail.
The quarry first opened in 1881 and workers blew the rocks up then hammered them into shape, before shipping them to Sydney to be used mostly on roads and railways.
Today it is one of Australia's most popular landscape photography destinations. Cathedral Rock is another unique location worth a visit close to Kiama Downs beach only a 5 minute drive down the road.
