Dog Looks Out To Sea Every Day, Waiting For Owner Who Died

A family was on a beach in Peru when they found a dog named Vaquito, his story moved everyone.

Jolie Mejía was with her family on a beach, when a dog approached and stopped to observe the sea. The story took place in Punta Negra, a district located in the province of Lima, Peru.

Jolie says she was sitting there enjoying the cool late afternoon breeze when the dog approached and appeared to be alone, staring at the sea.

The animal was clean, wore a leash and looked well cared for for a stray dog. Jolie stayed a few minutes keeping the dog company, waiting for someone responsible to approach, but no one showed up.

The young woman says that the dog seemed to appreciate the caresses it received and the closeness with the family that was there, but it did not take its eyes off the ocean.

“A local resident was passing by the beach and explained to us that practically everyone in the area knows the dog and is very fond of him. He told us that the animal used to live with a fisherman who passed away some time ago. Since then, the dog has been coming here every day and looking out to sea,” Jolie said.

She believes that the person responsible for the dog did indeed die at sea and that the animal now continues to wait for him every day. So he sits on the shore and watches the horizon.

Vaquito, as the dog is called, is taken care of by a woman who lives near the beach, but every day he goes to the place to wait for the owner who has left. Vaquito's story moves everyone who knows him.
